Joy: Appreciating Goodness

Evening talk by Senior Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley on turning towards a greater and more joyful appreciation of the gifts of this life.

Joy is the quality that gives makes the heart resilient.  When we turn our minds towards appreciating the goodness in our lives it brings about a natural uplifting of the mind.   Joy together with loving-kindness, compassion and equanimity are called The Four Immeasurables.  Together they lead to a limitless sense of relatedness to all beings. During this evening, we will look at ways we can turn towards a greater appreciation of the gifts of this life.

These evenings include a period of meditation, a time to share informally with the community, a short talk by the instructor and a period of open discussion on how we are working with these aspects of our lives.  The evening is open to all, beginners and experienced meditators alike, and is a great opportunity for us to delve deeper as a community into the richness of bringing meditation into our everyday lives.
