Summer Conference 2015 

Los Angeles Education Partnership is excited to announce our Summer Conference of professional development offerings! We have a wide variety of PD spread out across 6 weeks of summer 2015. Our PD is a compilation of evidence-based strategies, workshops and seminars that will help educators transition to fully implementing the Common Core State Standards, creating rigorous opportunities for student learning, and improving their teaching craft. Please register for one or more workshops

Workshops 

• *Teachers’ Center: Teacher teams create a Common Core standards-based, thematic, interdisciplinary unit and a culminating essay prompt. Ideal for teams that have members new to Humanitas. June 8-10; Rate: $324 per person
• Creating Trauma–Sensitive Schools: Participants will learn about the impacts of adverse childhood experiences on students’ success, and will develop strategies to support students. June 24-25; Rate: $283 per person
• *Teachers’ Center/Solutions-Based Learning: Teacher teams create a Common Core standards-based, thematic, interdisciplinary unit and a culminating essay prompt and/or interdisciplinary project-based unit. July 27-30; Rate: $365 per person
• Adaptive Schools: As we transition into the Common Core State Standards, schools must simultaneously address professional development of individual educators; development of the organization's capacity to learn, and be adaptive. The goal is to develop the collective identity and capacity of organization members as collaborators and inquirers. August 3-6; Rate: $337 per person
• Differentiation in the Classroom: Teachers will learn how to address the needs of a variety of leaners through strategies such as flexible grouping, scaffolding, and front-loading vocabulary. August 10-11; Rate: $273 per person 

*For these workshops marked (*), grade-level team should consist of at least two teachers from two different subjects who share the same students.

Payment Details 

• We will coordinate conference attendance payment with your school
• Teachers are responsible for ensuring that they are compensated for their time. LAEP does not pay teachers for attendance.
• Cancellation Policy: Cancel by June 4 for a full refund. After June 4 for a 50% refund. Cancellarions done less than 48 hours from the scheduled workshop will not be refunded.
