Target Audience
This conference is designed for the community providers who may encounter a patient with TB infection or disease.

Conference Goal
The goal of this training is to build capacity with community providers who may encounter and treat a patient with TB infection or diagnose a patient with TB disease.

Conference Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to list the stages of tuberculosis, describe the transmission of tuberculosis, Identify tools used in testing for TB infection, describe the interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA), discuss guidelines for treatment of TB infection in an adult patient, discuss guidelines for treatment of TB infection in a pediatric patient, discuss the effect to treatment duration on completion rates, describe basic radiographic patterns of TB disease in adults and children, identify components of TB diagnostic microbiology, list the current recommendations for treatment of tuberculosis disease, describe the clinical manifestations and treatment of extrapulmonary TB, and describe the surgical management of extrapulmonary TB.


The format for this course will be lecturestyle presentations, with case studies. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
