In March 2016, students will be taking a new version of the SAT.  What will it look like? How should your student prepare? Join Christopher Hamilton, CEO of Hamilton College Consulting, for a seminar on the new SAT and discussion of the best ways to prepare for the change.

You are invited to attend one or both presentations:  

6:00pm "What's the Deal With the New SAT?"  (for grades 8-11 and their parents)  

Topics to be covered: What should current 8th, 9th, or 10th graders know about the new SAT? Should 9th and 10th graders take the old SAT or the new SAT? Or the ACT?  How has the role of the SAT changed over time -- and what will its role look like in the future?  What dark secrets are hiding in the history of the SAT? What does the new SAT have in common with Coca-Cola?

7:30pm "Writing Your Best College Essay"  (for grades 9-11 and parents) 

Topics to be covered: What makes a great college essay great?  What essential element is missing from most college essays and applications?  How can 11th graders get started on their essays?  What can 8th, 9th and 10th graders do to make this process more rewarding and less traumatic? How is a great college essay like a French pastry?  Why is William Faulkner the most dangerous man in the world for college admissions?
