Alert!  Program Change for April’s Luncheon!  New Topic:  Chargers Stadium – What’s the story? 

SMPS has been able to secure a member of Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s Chargers Stadium Task Force.  Our speaker in April is now Douglas Barnhart and he will be discussing the Chargers Task Force and the mission that he and 8 other local San Diegans are trying to find a solution to – where and how to move forward on a new Stadium for the Chargers in San Diego.  The Task Force is expected to unveil their findings on May 20^th but there’s a lot of moving pieces in making this happen.  Come hear from Doug and be a part of the discussion.  We understand the NFL would likely contribute $200  million toward financing a new Chargers Stadium.  Pressure to build a new Stadium is mounting as our friends to the north in Los Angeles are trying to sway the Chargers, Raiders, and Rams to their city.  The NFL has stated, and the Chargers too, that they prefer to remain in San Diego.

This should be a great luncheon as we learn a little bit more about the types of decisions that we can expect to see in May by this Task Force!
