NINR Big Data in Symptoms Research Methodologies Boot Camp 

The 2015 Big Data in Symptoms Research Boot Camp is reserved for nursing graduate students, faculty, and clinicians who are U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents. If you attended the 2014 Big Data Boot Camp you are not eligible to attend the 2015 course.

Overview

NINR's 2015 Boot Camp will provide a foundation in methodologies for using Big Data in research. The purpose of the course is to increase the research capability of graduate students and faculty. The course will feature lectures by distinguished guest speakers, classroom discussion, and hands-on training with real-world Big Data.

The course is provided by the NINR at no cost. Attendees are required to pay for housing, food, and transportation expenses incurred during program participation.

Course Dates:

The 2015 Big Data Boot Camp will be held July 20 – 24, 2015 at  building 35A (John Porter Neuroscience Building) Rooms 610-640. Classes will begin daily at 8:30 am and adjourn at or before 5:30 pm.

Course Topics:

This course will cover a number of topics relevant to using Big Data in research. For additional details, please see the agenda.

Course Objectives:

  • Increase knowledge in Big Data methodologies for use in research
  • Discuss strategies for incorporating novel methods into research proposals

Who Should Attend?

Graduate students, faculty, and clinicians who are citizens or permanent U.S. residents may apply.

Speakers, Faculty, and Staff:

The speakers in this course will include nationally and internationally known Big Data experts from various institutions including the NIH and universities across the United States.
