New Federal Labor Rules and Regulations for Employers
Workshop Facilitator:
Theodore C. Phlegar is the Senior Counselor for the Workforce Freedom Initiaitive (WFI) at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This initiative is a grassroots, education, and advocacy campaign to preserve workplace democracy and prevent organized labor's anti-growth agenda.
Phlegar's primary duties at the Chamber include briefing business owners, managers and community leaders on federal labor legislation and regulation, protecting the business community through labor policy planning and advocacy, and promoting these issues through social medial outlets and grassroots activities. In his role with WFI, Phlegar also reularly blogs about pertinent events, co-managers WFI's website, workforcefreedom.com and social media feeds, has performed extensive research on union finances and multi-employer pension plans, and is responsible for publication of WFI's various reports and educational materials.

-An understanding of what you can do to keep your business from being cited or fined by these agencies.
-Valuable information on the concept of "joint employment" and how you could become liable for the actions of your subcontractors.
-Information on the labor movement's effort to unionize small business
