Tree Planting at Governor's Groves
Join us with your family and friends to plant trees at the Governor's Groves at Matheson Nature Preserve.
This 14 acre park is an urban nature preserve, and all plants and trees here are representative of the Salt Lake Valley when the pioneers arrived. The governor's groves are a series of tree groves and markers to commemorate each Utah governor since statehood in 1896. We will be planting large trees to replace some that have died. We are helping to maintain the nature preserve as a sanctuary for native plants in the urban Salt Lake Valley, as well as beautify the governor's groves with beautiful new trees.
