Kevin Fitzsimmons is a terrific vocalist with a charismatic presence who performs in a style that is very much “straight-ahead”, hard-swinging jazz. His album “Show Me The Way” was released in 2013 to considerable critical acclaim, and he’s enjoyed sell-out shows at festivals and venues around the UK, including the 606 Club & Ronnie Scott’s. His programme tonight will feature sassy new versions of jazz standards by Mercer, Strayhorn, Jobim & Legrand plus a few covered by Sinatra, jazz arrangements of classic pop recordings (by the likes of The Beatles, Sam Cooke, Paul Weller, Billy Preston) and brilliant originals. Kevin’s 7-piece band is also world-class, boasting a three-horn front line led by Ronnie Scott saxophonist Alex Garnett and featuring one of the UK’s leading trumpeters, Steve Fishwick. This promises to be a vibrant evening full of sophistication and verve!
