Florida surfcasters 11th annual public tournament 

The Florida Surfcasters are pleased to announce the Florida Surf Casters 11th Annual Surf Fishing Tournament held on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Our tournament objectives are to provide an opportunity to participate in a competitive fishing event where you put your skills and luck against others and also to promote the sport of surf fishing.

Tournament Rules - All entrants (Guest) are subject to the Florida Fishing Regulations, including size/bag limits, as set forth by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The FWC regs are available at MyFWC.com/marine. In addition, the following rules apply for this tournament:

• All fishing will be done standing on the beach of the East coast of Florida only, not from inlets, piers, bridges, dams, boats, etc.
• No nets of any description.
• Whiting (maximum 5), overall length minimum 11 inches  and Pompano (maximum 6), fork of tail to nose, must be minimum size 11 inches 
• In order to win a prize, you must present your fishing license or proof of exemption and your entrant (Guest) number.
• Entrant (Guest) holding a commercial license are bound by the parameters of a recreational license as pertains to quantity limits.
• The entrant (Guest) must present the fish he deems largest to the weigh master. Entrant decides, not weigh master.
• Each individual entrant (guest) may win only one prize.
• Fishing Times – Fishing will begin at 6:30 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2015
• Ties decided by earliest to weigh in.

Weigh-In Times/Location – Strike Zone Fishing, 11702 Beach Blvd. Jax, Florida 32224

Weigh In begins at 1:00pm and you must be in line to weigh fish no later than 3:30pm. There will be no exceptions made to this policy. If you have not signed-in with the Weigh Master Station by this cut-off time your fish will not be considered. Fish size and weight will be measured by the weigh master who has the final word on any and all disputes regarding these matters. Other discrepancies should be directed to the Tournament Chairman.
