The No Bummer Summer program is entering its fourth year. The programs provides you with fun and educational classes taught by area volunteers. Classes are held primarily in July at various Cairo locations. They are open to children within a 25 mile radius of Cairo.
Classes offered this year include:
CALLING DUCKS BY LARRY BAKER
Ages 10 and up
Monday, July 20th 10:00am – 12:00pm ;Cairo Community Center
Larry Baker, former professional duck and goose caller, will teach class attendees how to properly blow a duck call in order to more effectively hunt water fowl. Class fee includes a duck call for you to use at the class and take home.
LEGO ROBOTICS BY BECKY KOSMICKI
Ages 6-9
Monday, July 2nd; 1:00 pm to 3:30; Cairo Community Center
Does your 6-9-year-old love LEGOs and have an interest in robotics? Come discover the world of robotics in a hands-on, high-tech class
BASICS OF GOLF BY LATONNA AND AARON BRAND
Ages k—3rd and 4th-6th
July Date to be announced; 1 1/2 hour class; Centura Hills
Spend a fun filled afternoon on the links learning basic golf. A snack and drink will be provided.
SCIENCE EXPLORATION BY DAVID MORRIS
Ages 10 –12
Thursday, July 16th; 10 am to 12 pm; Cairo Community Center
Join us for a fun filled morning of science. Explore different scientific topics by perform various hands-on experiments and observing exciting demonstrations.
LEMONADE DAY ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM
Ages 4th thru 6th
Everyday from July 20th—July 24th 1 pm—3 pm; Cairo Community Center
Teaching kids to dream big, get creative and make money while learning what it takes to run their own business and achieve their self-made goals. On July 24th children will implement what they have learned and operate their own lemonade stand in Cairo.
JUNIOR LIFE GUARD IN TRAINING
Ages 2nd—6th grade. ****Must be able to swim, preferably in 12ft
July 16th; 9 am—11:30am; Cairo Swimming Pool
Learn valuable lifesaving skills, making a craft and learning some new fun games to play at the pool.
