Come join us for a fun and informative afternoon and get to know important women who have made a difference in San Francisco's bar industry.

We'll start the afternoon with mingling including one free drink with entry ticket at 5:30pm and then hand the microphone over to our fabulous bar owner ladies Isabel, Lila, Anna and Masaye who will tell you everything you need to know about starting, managing and expanding your own bar business.

Isabel Manchester,

Owner of Mighty, Chambers Eat + Drink, Wish and Mercer.

 

 

       

 

Experienced serial entrepreneur of the hospitality industry, Isabel has managed and operated many clubs and restaurants in cities like Miami, New York, Chicago, L.A. and even in Europe. Isabel owns some of SF's most popular venues and are always interested in opening more venues.

 

Lila Thirkield

Co-owner of Virgil's Sea Room, former owner of The Lexington Club.

 

After owning The Lexington Club, a famous lesbian dive bar in the Mission District, for 18 years Lila Thirkield has moved onto her next new venture in 2013 and partnered up to open Virgil's Sea Room next to El Rio in the Outer Mission. Lila has owned her own bar since age 25 and plans on continuing building community and keeping the queer Mecca that is SF alive.

Masaye Waugh

Producer and Bartender at Peaches Lady DJ Party at Skylark.

Masaye is currently in escrow for her own bar/tavern and has worked in SF's hospitality industry for over twelve years in a wide variety of venues and restaurants. She is the producer, promoter and bartender at “Peaches Lady DJ Party” at Skylark bar since 2008 and has been a lead bartender at many SF venues since 2006. She's currently working on developing her own bar space so keep your eyes out for this woman entrepreneur!

Anna Villalobos

Owner of Bar/Cafe Oeste, a brand-new venue in Oakland opening Fall 2015.

 

Anna comes from a construction background and has recently purchased a building in Oakland to be turned into a restaurant/bar called Oeste. Oeste is set to open its doors in December 2015. Anna has partnered up with 2 other women to join her on this entrepreneurial journey, and has lots of advice for you when it comes to finding the right spot for your own bar, getting permits and deal with zoning issues.
