2015 Autism Summer Symposium
 Differentiating Instruction to Meet the Needs of Diverse Learners

Participants will learn the differences between adaptations, modifications and accommodations and their effective use.

Who should attend?
Need new strategies on how to meet a diverse set of learner's needs in your classroom? Ever feel like you are modifying on the fly and wish you were able to proactively plan so you could spend more time engaged in teaching and less time putting out fires? Then this workshop is for you!

SCHEDULE AND COURSE OBJECTIVES
8:00 - 8:30 Registration and Light Breakfast
8:30-11:30 Morning Session
11:30 - 12:30 Lunch on your own
12:30 - 3:30 Afternoon Session    
                            
Course Objectives:  

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • use a basic framework to proactively set up the classroom to meet the needs of a full spectrum of students;
  • develop strategies that can facilitate the includsion of special needs students in the general education setting;
  • plan and apply adaptations, modifications and accommodations to maximize teaching time.
Tuition:  $75 course fee for Autism Society members, $105 for non-members
