How Guardianship, Conservatorship & Special-Needs Planning Solve Real-Life Family Problems

Families struggle when one of their own is in crisis.  Challenges like mental illness, substance abuse, dementia, disability, and other medical illnesses, whether short-term or chronic, require swift and sophisticated navigation from clinical professionals and financial planners in order to help the family member at risk, to protect the rest of the family and insulate any family businesses from distress and disintegration.

Join us at this interactive program to understand how attorneys, clinicians and financial planners can navigate family crises to resolve problems influenced by mental illness, cognitive impairments and special needs, addictions and disorders, to restore family stability and equilibrium and to protect the interests of the whole family, lifestyle and livelihoods, and family businesses.

David L. Yas, V.P./Financial Advisor, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management
I help people sort out tough questions about their overall financial picture so they can stop worrying about it and focus instead on what is truly important to them: time spent with family, truly fulfilling career pursuits, taking that trip that has always been a dream. My clients are families and individuals of all sorts, with net worths ranging from the lofty to the humble. I've developed specialties in areas where people are at the crossroads: planning for parents whose child has special needs (I am a special-needs parent myself); people getting their act together during or after a divorce; people making sense of a lawsuit that could affect their picture for a long time.
