Linda Jamison has over 20 years of professional experience building organizations, leading teams, providing research and analysis, developing programs and people, advising decision makers, and mentoring and training aspiring leaders. Her substantive expertise is in leadership and U.S. policy, international communication, US-UN relations, Executive-Legislative relations, and the politics of U.S. foreign policy.
Linda currently serves as the Vice President for Global Talent Development at the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) where she leads efforts to recruit, manage and train Institute staff and support its mission to help the U.S. Government manage international conflict without violence.
Prior to coming to USIP in late 2011, Linda served in the White House as Special Assistant to President Obama, and led the team responsible for hiring and recruiting political appointees for the national security agencies of the U.S. Government. Her portfolio included the Departments of Defense, State, Veteran’s Affairs, Homeland Security, and the Agency for International Development, Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Peace Corps, as well as the Directorate of National Intelligence and the CIA. She was also responsible for facilitating the appointment of political ambassadors and various members of U.S. Government Boards and Commissions who serve at the pleasure of the President.
Before joining the Obama Administration, Linda was the founding Dean of the Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. During the seven years that she led the Academy, Linda was responsible for helping to train and coach several hundred participants in the art and practice of leadership. She also held the title of Senior Fellow in Multilateral Studies. Linda worked at CSIS earlier in her career as Director of Government Relations in the 1990s. She has held positions at the UN and previously directed a non-profit coalition of 110 organizations whose sole purpose was to advocate for the U.S. to pay its dues and arrears to the United Nations.
Linda is a published author and public speaker, and is the proud mother of a teenaged daughter.

The WLF provides tools to support women in their pursuit of high-level executive and board positions by convening special events on compelling topics of interest, and by cultivating an expansive business network. Forum events are designed for WNG Members and may be closed to the public.
