Special Summer Event:

Winona Bridge Boat Tour & Project Presentation Aboard the WSU Cal Fremling

July 25, 2015 - Winona, MN

Session Description:  Join us for this informational and educational boat tour aboard the WSU Cal Fremling Interpretive Center and Floating Classroom, departing from the Winona Levee, showcasing the Winona bridge project.  The tour will include a presentation from Terry Ward, MnDOT Project Manager, as well as Q&A and discussion about the project. The tour will board and disembark from the Winona Boat Levee at Levee Park; see map for directions. 

Following the boat tour and presentation, attendees are welcome to join the group for a casual lunch at Jefferson Pub & Gill (order off menu; pay own charges) followed by a brisk walk around East Lake Winona (approx. 3.7 miles). There is a 4-minute drive between the lunch and the parking for the beginning of the walk.

About the Speaker: Terry Ward, PMP, is a Project Manager for the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) from Rochester, Minnesota. He currently serves as the Project Manager for the $160 million Winona Bridge CMGC project. He previously served as the Construction Manager for the $187.5 million Dresbach Bridge project, the Deputy Project Manager for Construction on the $238 million St. Anthony Falls Bridge Project (I35) and the Project Manager of the $232 million ROC 52 project in Rochester.

Terry has 30 years of engineering experience with both the public and private sectors and holds a Master’s Degree in Infrastructure Systems Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He has a Civil Engineering Degree from North Dakota State University, is a Registered Professional Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional.

Schedule of Events:

  • Board the WSU Cal Fremling: 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • Boat departs levee: 10:30 a.m.
  • Tour and presentation: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
  • Boat returns to levee: 11:30 a.m.
  • Optional lunch and walk: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.*timing is approximate

Dress Code:  The PMI La Crosse - Rochester Chapter does not have a policy for dress code and trusts its attendees to dress appropriately.  For this particular event, smart casual would be acceptable.
