The Housing Institute is a two-day intensive workshop that actively engages participants in discussion and problem solving around issues related to the development of affordable housing.
This event is geared toward officials, volunteers, and employees in suburban and rural communities.
This year's theme
New this year is the creation of two tracks that can be followed through the two-day program.
Track 1, Setting the Stage, is for registrants that want to gain a better understanding of how to assess their housing needs and what steps to take in the beginning. This track is for attendees that are new to their position on a committee or board, not so familiar with housing issues, or attendees that live/work in a community with an outdated housing plan or no plan at all.
Track 2, Moving to Implementation, is for registrants that are ready to put their community's housing plan into action or have some previous experience in creating affordable housing. This track is for attendees with a recently approved housing plan, sites in mind that seem suitable for housing, or attendees that have attended the Housing Institute before.
