Biography for Speaker:
Darrin McKeehen
Brownfields Coordinator, Florida Department of Environmental Protection
Mr. McKeehen is the DEP’s Brownfields Coordinator for the Northeast District and a professional geologist in the Waste Cleanup Section. He has held this position since June 2008. His responsibilities include the coordination of the management and development of the state’s Brownfields Redevelopment Program with the direction of Brownfields Liaison, Kim Walker. Mr. McKeehen works closely with local governments, regional planning councils, community groups and property owners to promote and facilitate the program and associated incentives for the redevelopment of Brownfield sites. Mr. McKeehen has 27 years of professional environmental experience and has been with DEP for the past 16 years. Prior to becoming the Northeast District’s Brownfield Coordinator, he was the Drycleaner Solvent Cleanup Program Coordinator. In addition to his Brownfields responsibilities, he maintains a wide variety of Waste Cleanup projects. Mr. McKeehen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Bowling Green State University.
