What do exceptional people, extraordinary aircraft and a fabulous venue have in common? That would be Beech Party! Perhaps the word has not made it to your neighborhood, but everyone is invited! Whether you are a passionate aviator, an enamored enthusiast, or own any brand of aircraft, please come to Tullahoma on the third week of October.
You will find all ages of aircraft, from vintage biplanes through modern turboprops, and everything in between. Last years gathering brought in over 125 airplanes, including a variety of Beechcraft treasures along with many other shapes, sizes and classic flying machines.
Pursuant to 110 years since the birth of famous aviator, Louise Thaden, Beech Party 2015 will be honoring all Women in Aviation. We plan to have Women in Aviation, International Pioneer Hall of Famer Fran Bera as a special guest to our event. Ms. Bera is a seven time winner of the All Women Transcontinental Air Race/Powder Puff Derby & won the Palm of Pines All Women's Race in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2003, 2004 & 2005!
This year we are proud to announce an exceptional line-up of Beech Party Seminars. Tom Clements will be returning by popular demand to share his King Air expertise and provide a personal book signing. Sarasota Avionics will be conducting a hands-on Garmin seminar. Former Beechcraft Executive, Jack Braly will be presenting a special program on the design, production and flying of the mysterious Starship.
Many activities are offered throughout the event, including professional Exhibits and educational Demonstrations from industry leading companies, respected restorers, and knowledgeable technicians. Perennial favorites including the Model Airplane Contests, Wine Tasting, A Fashion Extravaganza, Book Club and phenomenal meals prepared by Award Winning Chefs return with newer and more exciting camaraderie and, in some cases, competition.
Although area hotel accommodations number 3,000 rooms, Beech Park provides space for both tent camping and recreational vehicles, on the museum grounds. Included are private bathrooms and showers for the campers only, and a pavilion for gathering and cooking, especially for breakfast. Transportation is “on your own” with several options available for car rental, including pickup and drop off on the grounds.
Airport amenities include two Grass runways (9/27 @ 2,700’ x 100’ and 18/36 @ 2,100’ x 100’) and two paved runways with GPS, VOR, and NDB approaches (6/24 (5,500’ x 150’) and 18/36 (5,000’ x 100’). Fuel Service is provided by Jet-A and Avgas fuel trucks or self-service pumps, and Aircraft Maintenance is only a phone call away.
Plan to attend this celebration of historical aircraft, their legendary pilots and our global aviation community.
We look forward to seeing you!
