2015 Annual Clergy Retreat
August 23 - 25, 2015

The annual clergy retreat will be held from Sunday, August 23, through Tuesday, August 25, at Camp Mokule'ia on O'ahu's North Shore. Participants are invited to arrive beginning at 4:00 pm on Sunday, and the retreat ends after lunch on Tuesday.

The theme for this year's retreat is "You, Transfigured: Ministry From Your Truest Self"

This year’s retreat will be presented by special guest Susan Pitchford and will draw on her recently published book, The Sacred Gaze.  Susan Pitchford is a sociologist at the University of Washington in Seattle, and a professed member of the Third Order, Society of St. Francis. Her course topics mostly focus on the consequences of various forms of inequality and conflict, and she has led study abroad programs in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Belfast. She has also led programs in Rome, focusing on the tension throughout the church's history between the original vision and call of Christ, and the seduction of wordly wealth, status and power. She is the author of Following Francis: The Franciscan Way for Everyone; God in the Dark: Suffering and Desire in the Spiritual Life; The Sacred Gaze: Contemplation and the Healing of the Self; and Identity Tourism: Imaging and Imagining the Nation. She is a frequent conference and retreat speaker, and loves nothing more than exploring with others how to go deeper in the life of faith.

Tentative Schedule:  The retreat will have three main sessions: an introduction on Sunday evening, two sessions on Monday (one in the morning and one in afternoon), and a wrap-up on Tuesday morning.

The final deadline to register is July 29, 2015*

* Because of limited space at the Camp, registration for the retreat is open first to active canonically resident clergy and those licensed or retired clergy serving congregations and diocesan programs.

The Preferred Registration period will end on July 8,
and will then be open to all clergy.
