Crowdfunding is a new opportunity for raising funds that can be of great advantage to new and growing businesses. This workshop will provide information on the four types of crowdfunding – Lending, Reward, Donation and Equity – and will help you to understand if one of these types is right for you. We will also cover the JOBS Act, which is establishing new regulations for equity crowdfunding, and we'll provide you with some basic strategies and tips for running a crowdfunding campaign.
Presenter – Zachariah Evangelista
Zach Evangelista is a principal at Ser & Associates, a law firm serving businesses and individuals throughout Florida in a variety of legal matters. He also dedicates a portion of his practice to assisting nonprofit organizations with their legal needs. Prior to becoming an attorney, Zachariah worked for the City of Miami in the Office of Cultural Arts and Entertainment. He is involved in a number of community organizations and activities including serving on the Board of Directors of Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers and as a pro bono lawyer for Dade Legal Aid's Venture Law project. He is also a member of the Florida Bar Business Law Section, the American Bar Association, and the Crowdfunding Professional Association. Zachariah received his Juris Doctor degree from the Florida International University College of Law in 2011, with honors. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Hofstra University and a Master's in Public Administration from Florida International University.
