EHR User Group:  Patient Engagement 

Please join us for the second installment of the EHR User Group.  This group was established to provide a community to share success stories and challenges on how to improve care through electronic health records.  Anyone is welcome to attend from direct patient care givers to senior level management.

The cross organizational panel discussion will focus on patient engagement. Specifically, distinct approaches on how different health care organizations manage and enhance patient encounters at all levels.

Bring your questions and concerns for an open forum discussion and interactive Q&A session with the panel and attendees.  Panel members will include:

  • Moderator:  John Dunn, Division Director, Healthcare Applications, OHSU. John Dunn joined OHSU in 2005.  He is responsible for IT strategy, deployment and support for the OHSU Clinical Enterprise.  He has worked in a variety of IT leadership positions in healthcare, including Informatics Director for Altarum Institute, CIO for The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, and IT Director for University Physicians (Arizona).  John received a BA in Economics from Claremont McKenna College and a BS and MS in Engineering from Stanford University.
  • Jonathan Bullock, Program Manager, Patient and Family Centered Care Program, Kaiser Permanente Northwest Region.  He started his career with Kaiser Permanente in the Southern California region in 2005 spearheading that region's push to incorporate the patient perspective in quality improvement and the care experience.  In July 2012, Jonathan relocated to Kaiser Permanente's Northwest region to help expand Kaiser's work in - patient and family- centered care.  
  • John Meyer, Inpatient Orders Analyst, Legacy Health.  John has worked as an Epic analyst since 2005 and has developed new implementation teams, provided professional resource expertise on Epic system design and development.  He has also developed manageable workflows to address complex clinical needs with supporting minimalist approach, the fewer steps the better for clinicians.  Experience includes working with all levels of organizations from bedside clinician to senior executives (C-levels).
