Fees:  Cost is $48 for your first dog, $43 for each additional (same  handler)

Game:  Ducks

Ribbons:  All dogs that qualify will get rosettes, duck bands and a Certificate of Achievement

Workers:  All participants may be asked to run a winger, hold the clipboard, or help out in another way. Thank you in advance for your support!

What to Bring:  Please bring a duck call & radio, chair, water for your pups, and food & water for yourself. The grounds have lots and lots of poison ivy, so take care!
Note: There is no food available on the grounds! (Lunch will be offered to the workers)

Out of courtesy to our judges, please be sure that your dog is prepared for situations he will encounter in the test, such as gunshots, live birds, bird boys, long swims, boats and moderate cover. 

From the LRC:

The Working Certificate requirements shall be designed to establish that the dog is not gun-shy: accordingly, the dog will be expected to retrieve a shot game bird at a distance of 50 yards or greater... the dog will be expected to retrieve two ducks from swimming water 1 in immediate succession to establish the dog's willingness to reenter water...Steadiness is not required ... 

Qualification:

Any dog that has satisfactorily completed both a land and water series in a field trial licensed by The American Kennel Club, or has received a placement or judge's award of merit in a field trial sanctioned by The American Kennel Club, has successfully completed an AKC Junior Hunter Title, or has achieved at least one (1) leg on a Senior or Master Hunter Title shall be deemed to have satisfied the working certificate requirements. In addition, a working certificate requirement may be satisfied by establishing to the satisfaction of any current member of the Club's Board of Directors that the dog in question has performed in accordance with the minimum requirements set forth above. 

 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

WC: Single (live flyer) on land, back to back singles in water, 50 yard retrieves, light cover; not gun shy, steadiness not required, delivery to hand not required, no dress code

WCI: Double on land and on water or land/water, 75-100 yard retrieves, moderate cover, decoys, no blind, on-lead honor; not gun shy, steady off lead, delivery to hand, boat may be used, proper hunting attire or dark clothing required

WCX: Triple on land and triple on water or land/water, 100+ yard retrieves, 50-75 yard blind(s) on land and/or water (outside the marks), diversion shot, duck calls, decoys, off-lead honor; not gun shy, steady off lead, delivery to hand, boat may be used, proper hunting attire or dark clothing required.

Conformation Certificate (CC) will be awarded to any Labrador Retriever over one (1) year of age that passes a conformation examination sanctioned by the LRC, Inc. 

To receive a Conformation Certificate, a dog is required to attain a score of 18 or better from a possible 27.  A dog must demonstrate, in the mind of the judge, a 65% likelihood of conforming to the characteristic as described by the Standard.

Dogs must be one (1) year of age or older on the day of evaluation.

Spayed and neutered dogs can be evaluated.

NOTE: BITCHES IN SEASON WILL BE ALLOWED TO RUN THIS TEST AT THE END OF THE RUNNING ORDER. PLEASE INFORM THE STAKE MARSHAL IF YOUR BITCH IS IN SEASON

REFUND POLICY*: Entry fees will be refunded, if requested in writing before the closing date. After the closing date, refunds will be given only for dogs withdrawn for the following reasons: illness of the dog, injury to the dog, or death of the dog. Refunds will only be made upon written appplication to the Secretary and submission of appropriate veterinarian's certification within two weeks of the test, if the Secretary has been notified of the scratch before commencement of the test.
