The Storm Trysail Foundation, and host, Pleon Yacht Club invite you to attend a Jr. Safety @ Sea Seminar. This Hands-on seminar is suited for juniors with big boat experience as well as juniors with limited experience. The Seminar will cover the following topics:
- Crew overboard avoidance
- Crew overboard recovery
- Weather attentiveness
- Storm preparation communications
- Teamwork
- Introduction to Big Boat safety gear
- Shortening sail
- Practice of basic skills
- Getting into a lifereaft
- Tacking and gybing
- Setting and dousing sails
- Engine starting procedures
- Docking and mooring
The format of the seminar will consist of classroom sessions, dockside demonstrations, and on-the-water activities.

When: July 18, 2015
Who: Participants ages 14-18. All Juniors MUST be accomanied by an adult coach or supervisor.

* All Juniors must wear boating shoes and bring sun block.
Water will be provided for on-the-water sessions
*PLEASE bring your own durable re-fillable WATER BOTTLE.
