The summit will convene national and local experts, community stakeholds, and representatives around the state to clearly identify the public health, public safety and overall physical, mental and spiritual cost to our state due to the unprecedented opioid drug use epidemic.
THERE IS NO COST TO ATTEND THE SUMMIT. Breakfast & lunch will be provided!
Judge James Sullivan, former Drug Court Commissioner and current Circuit Judge and Commissioner of the VA Drug Court in Missouri will be the keynote at the Summit. From 2003 until his appointment to the 22nd Circuit Court in 2015, Sullivan served as a drug court commissioner for the 22nd Judicial Circuit.
Dr. Hendree Jones is an internationally recognized expert who will be speaking on substance abuse treatment in pregnant women. Dr. Jones became the Executive Director of UNC Horizons in 2013, and is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a joint appointment in the Department of Psychology. She is a consultant for the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO).
There will be a place for vendors to set up for a $40 charge. You will be provided with a 8' x 30" table with cloth and skirting as well as chairs. Please contact Sarah Berry to sign up.
A certificate of attendance will be given at the conclusion of the Summit.
