In 2009 the Portland Area Indian Health Service & the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board collaborated to create The Northwest Tribal Substance Abuse Action Plan.[1] The Tribal Action Plan Mission was to: “Reduce substance abuse among American Indians and Alaska Natives living in the Pacific Northwest by increasing tribal capacity to prevent and treat substance abuse, and by improving regional services and collaborations.”[2]
This five-year strategic plan for the tribes of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington will expire this year.
