DR. DOUGLAS HARTELY

U.S. EMBASSY AUSTRALIA - U.S. COMMERCIAL SERVICE CANBERRA

Dr. Hartley brings an exception range of skills t the U.S. Commercial Service with particular emphasis on Asutralia an dits neighboring countries. Dr. Hartley served at the Australian Trade Commission for over a decade, setting benchmarks as its younges regional manager and trade commissioner in Papua New Guidea, settig national recoreds for export seminar attendance and writing its best-selling market report.  Doug also led initiatives ot establish entirely new export markets and freight connections from regional Australi into Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.

Since joiing USCS Australia, Dr. Hartely has taken on national responsibilities for assisting US exporters find and win sales in the following industries: aerospace and defense, marine industries, agriculture equipment, safety and security equipment and food processing and packing equipment, including processed foods and beverages.  He also supports trade advocacy for government tenders and is based in the U.S. Embassy in Canberra.

Dr. Hartley holds two degrees awarded by the James Cook University of North Queensland - a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Doctor of Philosophy.
