Short Hills October 2015 SAT Advanced Class

Greetings!

CATES is happy to announce dates for the SAT Advanced Class for students taking the October SAT! Due to current space constraints, the number of students allowed to attend will be limited--the deadline for registration is 5pm two days before the first class. All classes will be conveniently held at Millburn High School.

We recommend our Advanced Class to rising seniors who want one last crack at the SAT before the November 1 Early Decision/Action deadline and/or rising juniors who want to take the current SAT before it changes in March of 2016. The CATES Advanced Class provides students with a different perspective on the SAT, including target scoring, timing strategies, and highly specialized techniques and drills for every SAT question type. When possible, tutors cluster students into smaller groups to provide a more personalized experience.

This intensive course includes 40 hours of master instruction and 24 hours of mock testing, focusing on the following: Critical Reading techniques for maximizing your score on sentence completions and specific types of reading passages; content-specific strategies and drills for the SAT math questions; strategies and drills for common grammar errors in the Writing section and ways to boost your Essay score into the double digits.

Highlights:

• Two intensive weeks in the summer; weekend mock tests and test reviews in September
• Classes begin August 17th and are led by a CATES Head Tutor
• Small class size: only 5-12 students per class
• 40 hours of master instruction and strategy across all aspects of the SAT I
• 6 LIve 4-hour Mock Tests using actual SAT I tests given in the recent past
• 64 hours of total preparation
• Students assigned mandatory independent prep work between August 28 and Sept 12 classes
• All sessions include individualized feedback to help your student reach her/his target scores
• CATES provides all materials
• Each student receives their own personal CATES HQ (our online prep system) account to track progress
• Price: $1745 (only $1599 if you register with a friend)
