Basic Big Boats (B3) for Junior Sailors

Meet and Greet Wednesday Night Racers
Join in the Thrill of Big Boat Sailing
Obtain Jr. Safety@Sea Certificate from US Sailing

             

SCHEDULE:

0900-1000 - Welcome and Introduction
                  Chris Schubert, "Morning Light" sailing team member

1000-1200 - Shoreside instruction

• Big Boat crew roles and basic maneuvers
• Weather attentiveness and preparation
• Big Boat safety equipment, fire suppression, and flare use
• Life Raft deployment

1200-1500 - On the Water Training (lunch will be provided)

• Safety briefing and radio communications
• Boat familiarization and team building
• Crew overboard prevention and recovery
• Boat handeling and short-course racing

1500-1600 - Wrap up, awards and Pizza Party!
