If you have ever had to schedule the deposition of an out-of-state deponent, then you know how difficult it can be. Even when a state recognizes the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act, it can be a daunting task because there are still many things to consider and lots of hurdles to jump through to ensure the witness is properly served and actually appears. So, if you have ever had to face these hurdles, we want to help! Please join the OCBA Paralegal Section for its July 30th lunchtime seminar entitled, "Out-of-State Deposition? No problem!" For this seminar, we are excited to welcome Elizabeth Tener, a shareholder in Greenspoon Marder Law’s Marital & Family practice group, to teach us more about how to expertly prepare for an out-of-state deposition.
In this short presentation, Ms. Tener will discuss strategies for researching local court requirements, how to know when local counsel is necessary and/or required, and how to open a commission and properly file a Motion to obtain a subpoena. Attendees will also enjoy an interactive Q&A discussion with Ms. Tener. But that's not even the best part! The best part is this seminar has been approved for 1.0 CLE credit by the Florida Bar!
Lunch will also be provided courtesy of:
