A Day to Sit for Nepal: A Fundraiser for the Earthquake Victims of Nepal

Nepal Earthquake Fundraiser
The Nepal Earthquake may be "over" in the news, but it is not over for the people of Nepal. Please join us for a unique day of teachings, meditation and sharing. You are invited to make an offering of your time and money to support and help continue the needed rebuilding in Nepal's rural areas. This event is open to all, no meditation experience is required!

Please join us for a day of gathering together to meditate in order to send our good will to Nepal. We will also be collecting donations to help with earthquake relief. Donations will be going to the Yongey Foundation to help continue the rebuilding process in the more isolated regions of Nepal where relief has been scarce.

The day will consist of a slideshow presentation on the current conditions in Nepal following the devastating earthquakes led by Edwin Kelley, the executive director of Tergar International. Senior Tergar Instructor Myoshin Kelley will be leading a teaching on what insights can be learned from a tragedy such as this. Tergar practice leaders will be guiding loving-kindness and compassion meditations and, throughout the day, we will be engaging in open sitting and walking meditation dedicated to the people of Nepal.

Registration is not required for this event, and you are welcome to attend the entire day or any part of it. There will be opportunities to make a donation at the event, or click here to donate directly online. Your donation will be directed to the Yongey Foundation to be distributed for earthquake relief and rebuilding in the Nubri region of Nepal.

Don’t have much time, but want to help out somehow? Here are 3 easy ways to participate:
  • Come and sit! Everyone is welcome, and you can come when you like and stay as long as you can. No meditation experience necessary, since instruction will be provided. Your practice and presence is a gift!
  • Pledge a donation to the event: Donate to the Yongey Foundation where all proceeds, no matter the amount, will make a huge impact on the lives of Nepalese people.
  • Spread the word - Tell your friends, and share this event within your networks. Post our Facebook event page on your timeline.
