Join us at Maine's premier Professional Public Health event, the MPHA Fall Conference. We will be partnering with various organizations across the State to bring the highest quality of education, innovation and inspiration to those that work in and around the field of public health.
 
This year's event will bring together approximately 300 public health professionals throughout the State and will feature 8 breakout sessions focusing on innovative prevention strategies, the latest research and model policies and collaborations.

   In the afternoon, the experts at Rinck Advertising, will be presenting a keynote session titled Changing Hearts, Minds and Opinions through Engaging Marketing and Communications: The Public Health Approach 


We will also be presenting three of our annual service awards at this event which highlight programmatic and policy leaders in our field.

MPHA Pre-Conference Workshop
Advancing Your Public Health Skill Set: Engaging Coalitions and Promoting Advocacy
Monday, October 5; Noon-4pm
Maine Hospital Association, Augusta

In conjunction with our fall conference, we will be holding a pre-conference workshop. This four-hour session will be filled with hands-on, practical experience work with a goal of leaving with tools and skills that you can use in your daily public health practice.

The workshop will be divided into two distinct but integrated sessions which build on each other. The first part of the day will focus on developing coalition building strategies and the second part will focus on activating coalitions for advocacy and policy change. 

Cost: $25 with conference registration; $40 for workshop only

The workshop will run from 12:00-4:00pm includes two fast-paced sessions. Individuals are welcome but teams are encouraged to attend.

Session I: Coalition Building
Practical strategies and tools for cultivating community engagement and fostering social change. 

Session II: Policy Advocacy
Leveraging individuals and coaltiions to create local and state policy change.
