Bishop's Student Leadership Academy 2015

The Bishop's Student Leadership Academy (BSLA) is a weekend retreat for high school youth (grades 9-12) to explore what they are passionate about, what problems and challenges in the world get them fired up, what gifts and tools God has given them, and what amazing ideas they have for sharing Christ's love.

Do you know a high school student who is passionate about making a difference in the world?  Excited to explore where God may use his or her gifts for ministry?  Ready to explore or demonstrating leadership that you'd like to see unleashed in their involvement in church?  We invite you to register them for this experience.  If you are a student who would like to attend, ask a pastor, parent or faith mentor to sign you up.  Note:  Students who have attended BSLA in the past are encouraged to attend again and will find new activities and next steps in exploring leadership and call.

Cost is $50 which includes overnight accommodations, Saturday meals and Sunday breakfast and all materials.  The retreat is facilitated by a team of youth workers, pastors, college students from the University of Indianapolis coordinated by Rev. Jeremiah Gibbs, Ecumenical Chaplain, University of Indianapolis.

Note to pastors, parents and lay leaders:  Because the investment of church leadership in these youth leaders is vital, you are requested to fill out this form on behalf of the youth, and we ask that one adult leader (or parent) from the congregation be present on Friday evening for a joint opening session with the attending youth.  Multiple mentors are also welcome.  At least one adult per group of 4 students attending must stay with the group throughout the weekend.  Each adult leader will need to have a background check and have a Safe Sanctuary overview.  Information and links to the background check and Safe Sanctuary instructions will be sent out after registration closes on November 1.  We also sincerely hope that the church will pay the $50 for the youth to attend, but if finances are an issue, we do not want that to stand in the way of any youth attending.  Please call the conference office at 877-781-6706 if you have any questions.

Registration will close on Sunday November 8, 2015 at 11:59 pm.

There will be a $10 cancellation fee for all cancellations received by 11:59 pm on November 8, 2015.  After this date the registration fee will not be refunded.
