Evening talk by Senior Tergar Instructor Edwin Kelley on how contemplating the inevitability of death can help us live fully and die fearlessly.
Death is one of the inevitable facts of life. Regardless of this, we often have an ambiguous relationship with death and live as if we will be here forever. Even culturally it can feel like a taboo to talk about this natural process. This can lead to fear, anxiety and a heavy heart. During this evening, we will explore the inevitability of death, our relationships with this natural process and how we can use this contemplation as a fertile ground for helping us to live fully and die fearlessly.
These evenings include a period of meditation, a time to share informally with the community, a short talk by the instructor and a period of open discussion on how we are working with these aspects of our lives. The evening is open to all, beginners and experienced meditators alike, and is a great opportunity for us to delve deeper as a community into the richness of bringing meditation into our everyday lives.
This public talk is freely offered by the Tergar community. We are deeply grateful to our community members, who generously offer their time, energy, and financial contributions to make this possible. If you would like to join the team and help us to offer the gift of meditation to the world, please email andi.tmsp@gmail.com to ask about volunteering, or click here to make a tax-deductible donation.
