Kevin Lindsey, Esq.

KEVIN LINDSEY was appointed Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Rights in February 2011. He had previously served as a civil litigation attorney in the Office of the Ramsey County Attorney, and has 20 years of experience in resolving complex legal and public policy questions. As Commissioner, Mr. Lindsey is responsible for a department whose mission is to enforce the Minnesota Human Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination based on race, gender, religion, color, creed, nationality, age, disability, sexual orientation and other characteristics protected under the Act. 

Maria J. Selsor, Esq.

MARIA J. SELSOR is an Administrative Law Judge in the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Equal Rights Division (ERD).  As an ALJ operating out of Eau Claire, WI, Ms. Selsor conducts many of the ERD’s hearings in cases of workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, etc. in western Wisconsin.  Similar to the MDHR, the Wisconsin DWD and its ERD have recently implemented procedures aimed at streamlining the resolution of claims.

Gary J. Van Domelen, Esq.

GARY J. VANDOMELEN has General counsel background experience in distribution and franchising matters, employment law, litigation management, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, insurance and contract negotiation and administration. He currently provides general counsel and other legal assistance to corporate clients across a wide variety of business issues including contract drafting and negotiation, licensing, distribution, litigation management, M&A, regulatory matters and preventative law techniques.

 JAMES B. SHERMAN is the President and CEO of Wessels Sherman. He has over 20 years of experience counseling businesses. Mr. Sherman is a frequent speaker to business and Human Resource groups and does in-house training on a variety of important workplace topics.

Chad A. Staul, Esq.

CHAD A. STAUL is a Senior Attorney in Wessels Sherman's Minnesota office.  He focuses his practice on employment litigation, representing clients in both state and federal courts, as well as before the EEOC and other federal, state and local agencies. He has defended employers against claims involving workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour claims, common law tort claims, and breach of contract, including claims involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.

Phoebe A. Taurick, Esq.

PHOEBE A. TAURICK is an Associate Attorney in Wessels Sherman's Minnesota office. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin and both State and Federal courts in Minnesota. Her practice is focused on representing management in all aspects of labor and employment law, including NLRB and other state and federal agency matters.
