Monmouth County Small Business, Big Impact

"Adopt A Town"Event

The ASBDC New Jersey at Brookdale Community College is providing Monmouth County Small Businesses a tailored, no-cost, high-impact program for their small business communities.  The workshop event will occur on August 17, 2015 at Brookdale Community College’s Freehold, NJ Campus from 5:00pm to 9:00pm (with networking beginning at 5:00pm). Throughout the week of August 17th through August 21st, pro-bono expert consulting will also be available to local small business owners at their place of business.

Serving the small business communities of Monmouth and Ocean counties, the ASBDC New Jersey at Brookdale Community College has been recognized as a driving force in aiding small business growth. One of the strategies in assisting with the growth of local businesses is location and industry specific programing. The ASBDC New Jersey “Adopt a Town” events began during National Small Business Week in Long Beach Island, addressing the challenges and opportunities for seasonal, tourism driven businesses. Services continued on along the Jersey Shore the week of May 11th in Long Branch for local business owners to capitalize on their “in season”, “shoulder months” and beyond.  During the week of June 8th, the ASBDC New Jersey at Brookdale Community College provided the Borough of Red Bank a “Small Business, Big Impact” event focused on training and consulting for their year-round destination retail, restaurant and professional business communities and in later July 2015, Toms River received “interruption disruption” focused training on staying in contact and gaining new customers/clients during business disruption occurrences.

The Monmouth County Small Business, Big Impact event is focused on “getting found” and marketing to new and existing customers.  The August 17th workshop will be led by retail and restaurant expert Marc Willson, who consults to State of Virginia, Main Street New Jersey and multiple small businesses and large corporations.

Throughout the week, local businesses also have the opportunity to receive no-cost, one-on-one, confidential 90 minute counseling sessions with expert consultant Marc Willson in the business owner’s local place of business (limited availability, pre-registration required) as well as receiving continued counseling with ASBDC consultants.
