Topic: Ethics for Tax Professionals

Meeting Description: Tax practitioners from both private practice and the government are regulated by a number of laws and regulations that govern their conduct on a day to day basis. How sure does a practitioner have to be about a position before he or she can advise a client that it is ok to report the position on the return?  When is a taxpayer subject to penalties for tax return positions and when can the practitioner be subject to penalties? What are the most recent Circular 230 changes and how do they affect you?  This program will answer these and many other practical questions that arise in your day to day practice.
