Program Description:
It seems like a day doesn’t go by without an article about robo-technology appearing in our industry’s media publications. Robo Advisors are in the process of changing the financial advice industry in a big way with cutting edge technology, transparency and extremely low fees. Although we are still in the early stage, it is critical that firms begin to evolve to address these developments. During this session, Deborah Fox, CEO of Fox Financial Planning Network will present powerful tactics you can start implementing now to emulate the best characteristics of automated investment services by working more efficiently and profitably and scaling your firm to grow. Deborah will also provide you with guidance on how to benefit by partnering with advisor-focused robo advisors for those who might consider pursuing that opportunity.

Deborah’s presentation will be followed by a moderated panel featuring firms offering “robo” tools for advisors.  The speaker, panel participants and other robo firms will be available to network with attendees both before the meeting and at the Member Appreciation event at The Irish Bank.

Deborah Fox is CEO and Founder of San Diego-based Fox Financial Planning Network (FFPN), a company nationally known for its comprehensive set of resources, tools and consulting that provides solutions so advisors and their staff are able to work more efficiently, increase profitability and leverage best of breed technology to provide a higher level of service to their clients without working harder. FFPN is well known for its unique workflow templates embedded the industry’s most popular CRMs so client service and back office systems can easily be put in place. In May of this year, FFPN introduced AdvisorTouch Symphony to the industry, the first program that assists advisory firms with the adoption and implementation of robo-technology.

Fox has also been a practicing financial advisor since 1984 and is known nationally for her unique approach to holistic financial planning and wealth management services as well as her specialty planning company, Fox College Funding LLC. Interestingly, Deborah and her staff are in the process of finalizing plans for adopting robo-technology into her own advisory firm.

Kyle Ramsay, CFA leads the Investing category at NerdWallet, helping people invest more effectively and confidently.  Prior to joining NerdWallet, Kyle spent three years at LinkedIn in business and product management roles and three years in retail and institutional investment management with Chase Investment Counsel and DUMAC, the management company for the Duke University endowment.  He holds a B.S. in Mathematical Economics from Wake Forest University and is a CFA® charterholder.
