Margolis & Bloom is presenting its annual Law School For Social Workers program (LSSW) the morning of Saturday, October 17th at the Marriott Boston Newton. This program is geared specifically for social workers who work with older adults and persons with disabilities and provides an opportunity to learn about a variety of topics. This year the three topics will focus on MassHealth.

For the first hour Margolis & Bloom will present on MassHealth eligibility for nursing home care. Some of the topics include:

• Asset and income limits
• Transfers of assets
• How to protect the healthy spouse
• New Developments

For the second hour Patricia C. D'Agostino will present on MassHealth community benefits. Some of the topics include:

• Home and Community Based Waiver
• Choices
• Personal Care Attendant ("PCA")
• Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly ("PACE")
• Senior Care Options ("SCO")

For the last hour Harry S. Margolis will present on Estate Recovery, Liens, and Planning Strategies. Some of the topics include:

• The difference between MassHealth and estate recovery and liens
• Advance planning to protect the family home
• "Crisis" planning to protect the family home

Attendees will receive three NASW approved continuing education credits.

Breakfast will be provided at 8:30 a.m. 

Seating is limited and there is a $30 charge which will be donated to the Perkins School for the Blind.
