Beyond Repeal - Procurement Changes Ushered in by the Common Construction Wage (CCW) Repeal


The Indianapolis Chapter of CSI is having its August Chapter Meeting at the Willows on Westfield on Thursday, August 20, from 5:30pm-8:30pm

The repeal of the common construction wage statute has been an extremely hot topic within the construction industry. While the issue of the wage repeal was highly publicized, HEA 1019 does more than eliminate CCW. Regardless of your company's affiliation, it is critical to understand the significant changes ot the public procurement statutes that will impact all designers assisting owners in preparing a bid and all contractors and subcontractors seeking to bid public work in Indiana, including new pre-qualification and training requiremetns, self-performance thresholds, and contractor debarment. The goal of this discussion will be to help all project participants navigate and implement these new procurement requirements.

Attendees will:

  • Discover the details of HEA 1019 beyond the repeal of the Common Construction Wage Statute
  • Discuss the new contract procurement changes that have been implemented with the legislation
  • Be able to identify the procudures, progrmas and systems that project participants must puti n place on public works jobs.
  • Learn how to properly comply with the new procurement changes when preparing bid packages

About the Presenter:

Daniel M. Drewry is a partner at Drewry Simmons Vornehm, LLP, where he practices Construction Law, Labor and Employment Law, Public Contract Law and Surety Law, and serves as the chair of the DSV Labor and Employment Group.
