ASTHMA PRACTICE IMPROVEMENT CME

This Practice Improvement CME provides the tools to enable primary care teams to manage the care of patients with asthma using evidenced based approaches for diagnosis, management, and best practice therapies.  It also provides valuable tips for billing and coding to maximize reimbursement for providing evidence-based care.

Objectives - Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the pathophysiology of asthma and associated small airway inflammation
  • Describe NAEPP guidelinesrelated to diagnoses, recognizing asthma control and effective pharmacologic therapy.
  • Describe the Asthma Predictive Index for diagnosing asthma in children under 4 years old.
  • Demonstrate improved knowledge, application and interpretation of spirometry for  the treatment of patients with asthma.
  • Defining asthma severity to meet ICD-10 requirements
