Marketing is a challenge for most small businesses. When times get tough, small business owners need to turn to their secret weapon - the principals of guerrilla marketing! You may be competing against bigger players with deeper pockets, but smart, creative guerrilla marketing techniques can help you win the day (and the business!). To successfully tackle marketing on a small scale, creativity is the key. This means marketing tactics that are often unconventional and out-of-the-box.  The term “guerrilla marketing” was first coined by Jay Conrad Levinson who wrote a book by the same name. His book instructed businesses to capture the attention and imagination of their audiences by using unusual tactics such as street promotions, giveaways, games, and contests.

 Presenters: Raju Mohandas and Orlando Espinosa

Raju graduated from the University of Miami, FL with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in Finance.  He has over 30 years of experience in sales & marketing, operations and finance.  In 1988 he started a company that was ranked in the top 100 nationwide in the industry.  Raju has devoted the last 10 years to working with small businesses in facilitating financing for their business growth, as a consultant for their sales/marketing and operations, and as a turnaround professional.    

Orlando is a Vice President at Emineo Media, an innovative marketing, branding, training and social media services firm specializing in business branded scholarships. He is also President for Sales and Marketing with Scholarship Proz, a crowd funding site dedicated to students seeking to raise money for any education related cause. Orlando’s sales career led him to spearhead the development, sales, marketing and branding of the Sallie Mae Fund’s “Paying for College Bus Tour” and 2Futuro, a bilingual loan and outreach program by Sallie Mae and USA Funds.
