Celebrating NSO's 60th Anniversary, NSO In Their Shoes 5K will commemorate the occasion with a 1960s themed run and walk on the beautiful Detroit RiverWalk.  Participants and Volunteers are encouraged to wear 1960's inspired clothing or their tie-dyed event T-shirt as they volunteer, walk or run 'in the shoes' of an NSO consumer.

 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

All volunteers will receive a T-shirt when they check in at the event.

Course Marshals:  (8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)  Marshals will direct runners and walkers at strategic locations on the course.  Marshals will be placed in pairs and will be standing along the course.

Split Timers:  (8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.)  Timers will use stopwatches to shout race times to runners as they pass the 1 mile and 2 mile locations.  Experience using a stopwatch is necessary.

T-Shirt Tent:  (6:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.)  Unpack, fold and organize T-shirts for distribution to runners and walkers when they turn in the T-shirt tab portion of their race number.  Keep T-shirt tabs to be used for the Participant Raffle following the Runner Awards.  Re-pack undistributed T-shirts and clean area.
