Personal Transmutation: Incinerating Our Limitations 

 

Join us for a weekend retreat in Berkeley with Dr. Robert Svoboda and Scott Blossom as they address working with the Five Elements to transform our everyday lives. Dr. Svoboda's well-known book Aghora: At the Left-Hand of God debuted 30 years ago, and this course will revisit some of the salient topics discussed in the Aghora trilogy, with special emphasis on how the five elements relate to our organism and our karmic patterns, and how purification of those elements (bhuta shuddhi), in particular fire (agni), provides the foundation for personal transmutation. The course will include morning yoga on Saturday and Sunday led by Scott Blossom in the Shadow style. Please bring a yoga mat or bolster or something to sit on during the lectures if you need it.

Saturday- April 9th 9am to 5pm

Dr. Robert Svoboda is the first Westerner ever to graduate from a college of Ayurveda and be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. During and after his formal Ayurvedic training he was tutored in Ayurveda, Yoga, Jyotish, Tantra and other forms of classical Indian lore by his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda. The author of more than a dozen books, he lived in India for more than a decade, after which he has continued to spend much of each year there and in other lands. 

Scott Blossom is a Traditional Chinese Medical practitioner, Shadow Yoga teacher and Ayurvedic Consultant. He has been studying yoga for over twenty years and teaching for thirteen.
