Many people talk about how sales process must be adapted to the buying process. The real challenge is mapping your solution and selling methods to how your customers are actually buying. For most organizations the sales process hasn’t changed appreciably, however the buying process has changed dramatically. Clients are educating themselves well before engaging sales. Our ability to influence the sale is reduced and we need to rely on “blind” education in the evaluation stage. Our strategy and channels have to change to match the new behavior.
