36th FIPS Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship - Volunteer / Controller Signup

We need volunteers to help bring this event to life.  Most volunteers go river side as a controller. The job is not hard and you get to spend time on the water with some of the top anglers in the world.  There are also positions to fill supporting our ceremonies, venues, and transportation needs.

Volunteer to be a 'Controller'. One of the most valuable ways to improve your skills as a fisherman is to watch an accomplished angler in action. Go riverside with an international competitor to measure and record the fish points. Join us now to support the 36th FIPS Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship.

Jodi Knight will call each person signed up to review the controller training options and to review the location of your assigned venue.  We are here to prepare you for this event.

Daily Assignments – There will be a sector judge at each venue to meet you in the morning at the parking area and direct you to your beat. The sector judge will have Controller Kits (score sheet, measuring tube, clip board, pens, and waterproof bag) and replacement items.

Lunch and water - Each venue will be catered to ensure excectional meals are served at each location. Moe's BBQ, Wolcott Yacht Club, and local Specialty Food Trucks will provide daily lunches.

Time Keeping – Please bring a watch or time keeping device, as you are responsible for the start times and end times for your angler. Anglers get 30 minutes to review their beat, then 3 hours to fish. You are to provide time updates to the angler and a countdown to ending time.

Comfort – Bring a camp chair, an umbrella, or whatever makes you comfortable. A walking stick, camera, sun hat are also great items to have in a day pack.

Swag Bag - All volunteers will receive an event swag bag with championship hat, pin, t-shirt, industry merchandise, and local shop discount forms.  And many new friends will be made.

Welcome to the World Fly Fishing Championship!
