Project AIM is a group-level youth development intervention for at-risk middle school  youth, ages 11-14. It is designed to reduce HIV risk behaviors among youth and is  based on the Theory of Possible Selves. Project AIM encourages participants to imagine a positive future and discuss how current risk behaviors can be a barrier to a successful adulthood.

As a result of participating in this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the objectives, content, activities, components, and seven core elements and unique features of the Project AIM.
  2. Understand the theoretical foundation of  Project AIM and how they are applied in program activities.
  3. Identify and perform the task needed to prepare for Project AIM.
  4. Identify the purpose of each of the 12 sessions.
  5. Identify at least five youth-oriented facilitation skills necessary for successful implementation.
  6. Identify potential barriers to implementing the Project AIM  and describe strategies for overcoming these barriers.
