Breathe-Light-Voice
Advent Quiet Day with MANNA Community

Presented in Partnership with MANNA and
the Black Seed Writers Group

An opportunity to embrace Advent with an afternoon of shared writing and mediation.  Youth from around the diocese will gather to explore what it means to live in this season of anticipation and preparation.  We invite you to come unplug, breathe, and become attentive to something new coming into the world.

The event includes writing sessions, as well as contemplative prayer workshops in the tradition of the World Community of Christian Meditation.  The MANNA community will lead both the meditation and the writing sessions.  Special writing prompts and music will be selected for the event.  MANNA is a ministry of and with the homeless community in downtown Boston (of which the Black Seed Writers Group is a part).  Members of these groups will guide young people from across the diocese in this multi-dimensional exploration of light and voice in a season of dark and quiet.

Participants will also share an evening meal and an open mic session during which all are invited to share their reflections from the day.
