Our October Presentation:The Model Driven Engineering (MDE) approach is meant to increase productivity and simplify the design process by maximizing compatibility between systems (via reuse of standardized models). Product managers, designers, developers and users collaborate to identify or develop pertinent models. As the models approach completion, they enable the development of software and systems.
In Goleta, Northrop-Grumman uses MDE as a paradigm that emphasizes the application of rigorous visual modeling principles and best practices to systems engineering activities. Throughout the system of systems development life cycle, MDE supports each phase of the total design.
This talk will review MDE top level concepts, context, relationships, and benefits.
Our Speaker: Tom Strelich is a Northrop Grumman Technical Fellow and has extensive experience with systems engineering, software engineering, program/project management, modeling and simulation, technology development/transfer, distributed software architectures, software process definition/enactment, software verification and validation, and training.
He is also a bagpiper and a published author/playwright with multiple off-Broadway productions and national awards (No kidding!).
