A Christian Writers' Retreat with Jane Rubietta

Jane Rubietta, award winning author and speaker is returning to Comfort for three days of instruction and discussion, November 20-22, 2015.  Jane is the co-director of the well known "Write to Publish" conference, held annually in Chicago.   

Jane’s humor, candor, spiritual depth, and application of Scripture engage and grip her audiences.  We are not surprised that lately one conference attendee wrote of Jane, "I’ve been a Christian for 30 years, and these 45 minutes changed my life.” And we agree with Publisher's Weekly who wrote, "Jane Rubietta weaves an eloquent display of proofs from scripture, richly displaying Jesus' beckonings with dynamic storytelling and calls to introspection."  And as to writing, "Jane's ideas and evaluation helped me get in print" has been true multiple times. "You've given me hope to pursue my writing dreams," people tell this author of 17 books and hundreds of articles.

So you are invited to attend this "Write for Life" retreat: to find your voice in writing, to sharpen your prose, and to give the writer within you the gift of this time with an outstanding mentor.  Whether you are already actively writing and publishing, or considering moving in that direction ... come.  Take the next step in the journey of the writing life. Jane's expertise and the shared community of writers will move you forward in your own writing.

Anything in the field of writing is fair game: fiction, non-fiction, books, articles, devotionals, blogs, poetry...   Sessions will not only inspire you to bless others with the blessing that you've been given, but also offer instruction on creating better writing, in general.  Attendees are invited to submit a sample of writing that may be selected as appropriate to discuss in a session.  Send a sample to info@lambstale.org by November 17th.

If desired, you also may opt for a brief one-one consultation with Jane for a specific critique of a short sample of your writing. Your sample of writing should be about 3/4 page long double-spaced. Jane will make suggestions of changes which you will have the opportunity to make during the retreat and then meet with her once again before the end. This Consultation with Jane may be selected for a small added charge. However, you must send your sample in advance, deadline November 17.  Send as an email attachment to us at info@lambstale.org.

So whether you are a published writer or one who has not yet attained that, whether you need specific feedback or more general guidance, or whether you are a serious journal-writer and just like the company of other writers, this retreat will not disappoint.

Registration limit of 20 attendees.    The registration charges have been lowered due to a recent donation for this cause.  Check-In at 3 PM, registration begins at 5:30, supper at 6, and first session at 7 PM.
